It’s been quite a journey for this Thai lady! “Ms. Joy,” as she’s affectionately known, grew up on a small farm outside Roi Et, Thailand, as one of ten siblings. From a young age, she learned Thai culinary skills by helping her mother cook for their large family and dreamed of one day coming to America.
After arriving in Roseville, California, she worked tirelessly to learn English and adapt to American culture. With determination and courage, she achieved her dream of opening a Thai restaurant — and in 2011, My Thai Kitchen (MTK) was born.
Under Ms. Joy’s leadership, MTK has become a Roseville favorite, voted Best Thai Restaurant in Placer County for 11 consecutive years. Her passion and authenticity shine through in every dish she creates.
MTK’s menu reflects Ms. Joy’s creativity and deep respect for Thai traditions — from aromatic curries and sizzling wok stir-fries to comforting rice dishes like Khao Man Gai, Thailand’s beloved chicken-and-rice classic.
